Sweet Sentiments from Sweet Charity

We would like to thank all the singers in the Voices for Hospices concert and the walkers of our first World Hospice Day Charity Walk sponsors, supporters and friends of the World Hospice Day events for your superb support of the Sweet Charity Hospice Fund.

We managed to pull in nearly 8000 Euro with a combined effort of support for all the events. These monies will be used to develop our Hospice Fund Home care and Assisted living respite programme already in progress. The Caring 4 Carers program is currently helping needy families in Torremendo, El Galan, and San Miguel. Daily we are now receiving calls for more respite care in the greater Torrevieja and Vega Baja area. Our website www.hospice-spain.com has already received hits as far away as Almería.

With the sponsorship of Ford Motor Dealer- Martinez, who have sponsored a Ford Mondeo, we are able to access the community with this Respite and Hospice Home care services. The auto insurance coverage this year, from Knights Insurance, was managed by the Quesada Office through the direct efforts of Maria Jose Capilla, office manager in Quesada, and has opened the doors to a full co-operation and furthering the vision of Hospice care between the Charity and the Knights Insurance company. Also The Amba Sun Property company donated 500 Euro to the Patio Andaluz event.

Our greatest benefactor and supporter has been Eddie and Debora Wright of Eduardos of Villamartin and La Finca Eduardos. They have supported us and the vision of Sweet Charity from the beginning. Since our registration in March 2005, Eduardos has donated over 10,000 Euros to the establishment and furthering of our Sweet Charity dream! With support of this kind we, along with other donations and Tax Gift aids we can make the reality of a Sweet Charity Hospice and a mobile Hospice Home Care Service come true.
