While the Eduardo’s group of restaurants may be very different in style and setting, they have two very important things in common: exquisite cuisine and impeccable service. The Eduardo’s brand was established on the Costas in the year 2001, with the opening of ‘Eduardo’s Restaurant’ in the pleasant surroundings of Villamartin Plaza. Its launch had a huge impact on the local Bar and Restaurant industry, challenging the notion that diners are best satisfied with ‘cheap pub grub’ and instead delivering fine cuisine at realistic prices. Restaurant Owners Edward and Deborah Wright and their two sons Edward and Elliott really know how to take care of their clients, and their fine attention to detail is reflected in every aspect of the dining experience, from the personal greeting received on arrival, to the insistence on allowing only the freshest, finest ingredients into their kitchens and attentive service provided throughout the meal. These were standards which diners were not accustomed to receiving, and which have set Eduardo’s aside from even the most exclusive eateries on the coast. EXCELLENCE The Restaurant’s popularity gave way to the launch of a sister restaurant, La Finca de Eduardo’s, to offer ‘Two superior restaurants and one standard of excellence’. Nestled between the golf courses at Villamartín, Las Ramblas and Campoamor, La Finca, as the name suggests, was previously a traditional Spanish Country house, constructed by the Marquis of Campoamor and still retains all of the authenticity of its past. Whether you re-located to Spain to appreciate the mild climate, healthier diet or relaxed, easy pace of life, La Finca is certainly a good place to start, providing a beautiful oasis set at the heart of the urban jungle and billed as one of the most beautiful venues on the coast. The restaurant provides the perfect location for long, lazy lunches, or memorable, romantic evenings, with three very distinctive styles of dining which are tailored to compliment the seasonal variations of the Mediterranean. These include a spacious sun terrace which lends itself to dining ‘al fresco’, which is perfect for enjoying the warmth of the sun by day and an absolute must on those warm, balmy nights. Indoors, the surroundings are equally stunning, where diners may choose a table on the covered terrace area or venture downstairs to the charming, period dining room, where the elegant characteristics of the original finca can be seen in all of their glory. INSPIRED Above all, the Eduardo’s group is proud to boast the expertise of the most acclaimed kitchen teams on the Coast. They have created a plethora of inspired dishes, which are prepared and cooked to perfection at each of the restaurants. La Finca welcomes Head Chef Keith Deeks, who was taught by none other than Marco Pierre White, to become a Sous Chef at Harvey’s of London and Brown’s Brasserie before joining the team at Eduardo’s. He is supported by Sous Chef Brian Birch, a former head and executive Chef of the Duck Bay Marina, Loch Lomond. Due to popular demand, they have revived the legendary Sunday Luncheon Menu, which is served at each restaurant throughout the afternoon from 13:00 through to 22:00, offering three delicious courses for as little as 10€! At that kind of price my partner, Trev and I simply could not resist but visit the two, starting at Eduardo’s two weeks ago before enjoying last Sunday afternoon at La Finca. The terrace was absolutely heaving with diners, although the atmosphere remained calm and organized. The waiting staff could not have been more attentive, swiftly serving our choice of wine, a chilled bottle of fruity Castaño Chardonnay, whilst we feasted our eyes on the tasty looking dishes being served to our fellow diners and inhaled the delicious aroma of roasting meat. PERFECTION For our starters, we opted for the chicken liver and smoked bacon parfait with roast onion and plum chutney and prawn cocktail in a tangy marie rose sauce with brown bread. The presentation was yet another reflection of the Eduardo’s commitment to perfection, making the dishes almost too good to eat and teasing the appetite for the hearty roast dinner that was to come. For this, Trev went for the slow roasted shoulder of New Zealand lamb while I opted for the honey roast chicken breast wrapped in bacon. The dishes were each served with a Yorkshire pudding, special roast potatoes and a colourful blend of fresh market vegetables drizzled with thick, rich gravy. All of the ingredients were ultra fresh and oozing with flavor. We are not usually fans of dessert, but on the basis that it would be as delectable as the previous dishes, decided to make an exception. Trev enjoyed warm apple crumble smothered in creamy custard while I tucked into a heavenly bowl of cherry pie and ice cream. It was the perfect end to a perfect afternoon. Essentially, Eduardo’s Sunday luncheon delivers all of the taste of home cooked food, in idyllic surroundings and without the washing- up! And with such an unbeatable price, you simply can’t afford to miss it. For Reservations please call: Eduardo´s Villamartin day Time : 659 609 004 Evening: 966 765 148.
