jack tweed at EduardosJADE GOODY’S widower is forever in the headlines in the UK and to say that he has not had an easy time of it recently is an understatement. As well as tragically losing his wife to cervical cancer last year, after being married for just a month, Jack Tweed has recently endured a spell in prison on remand for rape, of which he was cleared last week. He is also constantly being stalked by paparazzi photographers, who follow his every move and after spending several months on a curfew, wearing an electronic tag, this week he flew out to Spain with a couple of friends to enjoy his first holiday abroad since he lost his wife.

On Wednesday, RTN met up with Jack and his friends Mark Wright (The Only Way Is Essex) and Joshua, who plays Championship football for Scunthorpe United and is an England under-21 player, for an exclusive chat. Mark and Joshua are the nephews of Eddie from Eduardo’s Restaurant in Villamartin and it was at his restaurant in the Plaza that RTN met up with the UK’s most famous widower.

SUNSHINE

Jack came across as a very grounded and down to earth young man and it is hard to believe that at just 22 years of age he has been through so much. On the day that RTN met him it was announced in the British national press that he had been so depressed whilst he was in prison facing a charge of rape, of which the trial jury took just 15 minutes to clear him, that he seriously considered killing himself. Jack told RTN: “I don’t really want to talk about that now here. I just want to say that I am happy to be here in the sunshine, enjoying some time out with my mates. I want to try to put everything that has gone on during the last few months behind me and start again.”

The lads, who are all avid West Ham fans, planned to spend the remainder of the evening watching Manchester City play Tottenham Hotspur in the penultimate match of the Premier League season at one of the neighbouring bars in the Plaza; following a delicious meal at Eduardo’s. Jack continued: “My mates have been there with me throughout the last two years and I owe them such a lot, so it is nice to be here and spend some quality time with them and their family, who have all been really welcoming.”

The lads plan to spend the next few days in the area and then will travel down to the Costa del Sol to take in the sights down there.

The Only Way Is Essex,

mark wright the only way is essesSince this story was written Mark Wright and his big Sister Jessica Wright have shot to fame in the breakthrough docu-drama "The Only Way Is Essex.

It's been a long time coming, but Britain finally launched its own answer to American reality TV show The Hills on ITV2.

The Only Way Is Essex centres on a group of friends and associates and their high-maintenance lifestyle in Brentwood. Starring Jack Tweed's best friend Mark Wright, the hour-long first episode on Sunday lived up the Essex stereotype with lots of fake tan, hair extensions, designer watches and lots of champagne.

Clearly for a slightly older audience than The Hills, the episode included intimate shots of women's bikini lines, an angry ex-girlfriend shouting the C-word across a nightclub and open discussions about one night stands.

The new show, narrated by Denise Van Outen, will run for 10 weeks, with each episode being filmed only a few days in advance.

Club promoter Wright, 23, was right at centre of the drama as the episode opened with him being frequently called by his ex-girlfriend Lauren Goodger, who he has been dating on and off for nine years. The self-proclaimed Mr Essex admits to his friend 'Arg' that he wasn't ready to settle down just yet and was non-committal when Lauren asked him if he would be attending her birthday party at local nightclub Sugar Hut.

The show has already secured some celebrity fans on Twitter, with Alan Carr, Katie Price, Chris Moyles and The Saturdays' Frankie Sandford all writing about it.
