Raising Money for Baby Pablo
PABLO IS an eighteen-month-old baby born with Transposition of Great Vessels; in other words, his heart is plumbed the wrong way. He was just six days old when he had his first surgery to correct this fault and has had two since then.
Now he needs a fourth life saving operation or he will die. For this next operation, Pablo and his parents Cati and Stefan must travel to Madrid where surgeons have more experience of the necessary procedure. The boy needs to have this operation within the next six weeks and the expat community has been rallying around the family to raise money for the trip and the procedure.
Tomorrow, Saturday 27th February, OK Gym in Los Dolces has arranged a fundraising Spinathon and Rowathon to help raise money for this sick child and on Friday 12th March, at Eduardo’s Restaurant in Villamartin, there will be a Black and White fundraising ball in aid of Baby Pablo. Since Pablo was born, his Mum Cati has been unable to work and his Dad Stefan has continued to work long hours in Alejandro’s Restaurant in La Zenia where he has been a chef for the last ten years. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery, the travel to Madrid and the boarding costs are beyond the means of the family and so this is why these fundraising events are taking place.
NATIONAL CONCERT HALL
Eduardo’s, along with Yvonne from The Lansdowne are hosting this very special ball and for just €50 per person, you will be treated to a cava reception, a three course meal with half a bottle of wine per person, water and coffee, as well as host of fabulous entertainment.
The confirmed list of entertainers includes International and West End Star, Paul F Monaghan. Paul has appeared in Les Miserables and the original UK cast of The Phantom of the Opera, along with other theatre credits including: Jesus Christ Superstar; The Hired Man; Zorba; Can’t Stop the Music; Dick Whittington and Sondheim’s musical Sweeney Todd. He has just been performing at the National Concert Hall in Dublin and is coming over just for the event. He told RTN: “I am delighted to be appearing for such a worthy cause.”
A donation from all ticket sales goes directly to the Baby Pablo’s Fight for Life Appeal along with all the sales from the auction and due to overwhelming demand Paul will also be appearing a second time the following night, Saturday 13th March. Booking is essential and tickets are available from Eduardo’s; La Finca de Eduardo’s; The Lansdowne or CardMania in Los Dolces. For more information, please call Yvonne on 670 706 194.
