eduardos villamartin table of four

Dining out is always a treat, but you have never truly indulged until you have eaten at Eduardo’s.

Located in the pleasant surroundings of Villamartin Plaza, Eduardo’s Restaurant is in a class of its own. Established in 2000, Eduardo’s remains untouched by any other eatery in the vicinity and is reserved

for those who appreciate the value of fine cuisine and impeccable service.

Owners the Wright family really know how to take care of their clients, offering two superior restaurants and one standard of excellence. Edward and Deborah are joined in the business by sons Edward, who takes care of the Villamartin venue and Elliott who is responsible for sister restaurant La Finca de Eduardo’s, nestled between the golf courses at Villamartín, Las Ramblas and Campoamor, and billed as one of the most beautiful venues on the coast.

SETTING

RTN Sales Representative, Garreth Wright and wife Michelle, and my partner, Trev and I were invited to dine at Eduardo’s Restaurant to find out exactly what everyone was raving about. On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find Eddie and Deborah greeting their clients and showing them personally to their table. Here came our first dilemma: should we opt for the quintessential Mediterranean experience of dining al fresco on the shaded terrace, overlooking the beautiful scenery of the Plaza, or inside? Because you simply do not realise just how beautiful Eduardo’s is until you venture indoors to enjoy the ornate stained glass windows, mosaic ceilings and authentic wooden beams. Always in search of that ‘something special’, not to mention reprieve under the refreshing air-conditioning, we opted for the latter. We settled on comfortable chairs within a warm, friendly atmosphere, and when our attentive waitress Lisa followed only seconds later to take our drinks order, we knew that we were in for a real treat.

PERFECTION

Sipping on a glass of chilled Protos Rueda 2004 Blanco and nibbling on the tasty appetiser, we were able to take in the impressive surroundings, whilst entertainment was provided by popular Beatles Tribute ‘The Back Beat 4’. However, all of this began to pale into insignificance as our focus was drawn to the selection of exquisite dishes available from the a la Carte menu. Eduardo’s is proud to boast the expertise of the most acclaimed kitchen team on the Coast. Head Chef Keith Deeks was taught by none other than Marco Pierre White, to become a Sous Chef at Harvey’s of London and Brown’s Brasserie before joining the team at Eduardo’s. He is supported by Sous Chef Brian Birch, a former head and executive Chef of the Duck Bay Marina, Loch Lomand. As professionals they are very particular about what they allow into their kitchen, and will only work with the freshest and finest ingredients, ensuring that every dish is prepared and cooked to perfection.

CHOICE

The extensive menu combines a selection of authentic international dishes to tempt every palate. For our starters, we opted for the classic Caesar salad; the flavorful combination of red onion and goat’s cheese tart tatin; and salt and pepper squid drizzled with a tangy roasted chilli sauce, served on a bed of salad. Presentation is everything at Eduardo’s and the meals looked almost too good to eat, although we were quickly persuaded by the combination of tempting aromas. For the main course, my companions opted for the chargrilled sirloin steak with a creamy pepper sauce; smoked haddock sitting on a bed of spinach and crowned with two poached eggs with lashings of hollandaise sauce; and an exotic Moroccan spiced shoulder of lamb teamed with juicy sundried tomatoes and coriander cous cous, while I chose the Thai chicken and crisp vegetable stir fry with egg noodles. As a lover of spicy foods, this was a great choice, with just the right blend of spices and a squeeze of lime to give it that extra zing. The meats were extremely tender and melted in the mouth, whilst the flavour of the succulent haddock dish married beautifully with the spinach. A colourful arrangement of fresh vegetables complimented the dishes perfectly. We were almost beat by the time it came to dessert, but had just enough room left to sample the summer fruits pudding and lemon tart which were simply divine. Creamy Irish coffees finished the meal off nicely, at which point we felt that we had indulged quite enough!

VALUE

Within a venue such as this you would usually expect to pay a little more, so we were pleasantly surprised to find that this was not the case. All meals were competitively priced, starting from as little as €12.00, whilst on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays clients can take advantage of the special set menu’s comprising 2 courses for just €15.00 or 3 for €20.00! After such a fabulous evening it was great to hear that a visit to Eduardo’s does not need to be limited to a special occasion, and we made sure to reserve our table for the next time before leaving, to give us something to look forward to.
Essentially, anyone who appreciates exquisite cuisine at realistic prices will love Eduardo’s. To experience the elite of Costa Blanca eateries, telephone to reserve your table now on 966 765 148.
